MyNest is built to protect you, with 18+ members only, every photo reviewed within 24 hours, and zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Here is how to stay safe, and how to get help.
Date smart, stay safe
Meeting in person
- Take your time. Chat and maybe video call before you meet.
- Meet somewhere public and busy for the first few dates.
- Tell a friend where you are going, who with, and when you expect to be home.
- Arrange your own transport so you can leave whenever you want.
- Stay in control of your drinks and belongings. Trust your instincts.
Protect your money
- Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you met on MyNest, however convincing the story.
- Be wary of anyone who talks about investments, trading or a sudden emergency.
- Never share bank details, card numbers, OTPs or passwords.
- Report anyone who asks for money. It is always against our rules.
Chatting safely
- Keep conversations on MyNest until you trust someone. Our reporting tools only work here.
- Links are blocked in MyNest chats to protect you from phishing.
- Be careful about sharing your surname, workplace, home address or daily routine.
- You never owe anyone a reply. Unmatch or block whenever you like.
Red flags to watch for
- They avoid video calls or meeting, or their story keeps changing.
- They quickly profess strong feelings or push to move to another app.
- They ask for money, photos or personal information.
- Their profile seems too good to be true, or has only one or two photos.
Privacy controls in your hands
Find these in Settings and on your profile. Change them any time.
Approximate location
Others only see a rough distance. Hide it entirely, choose a city by hand, or skip location.
Photo visibility
Set each photo to everyone, matches only, only you, or unlock with credits.
Incognito mode
Only people you like can see you.
Hide details
Hide your age, distance and last active time, and turn off read receipts.
Pause your account
Take a break. New people will not see you, and your matches stay.
Block
Blocking someone hides you from each other straight away and ends the chat.
If something feels wrong, tell us
Open their profile or your chat, tap the menu and choose Report. You can report a profile or a single message, and block them at the same time. Reports are confidential, and our team reviews them and acts on objectionable content within 24 hours.
