React Native Next Image
Download a URL once. Render it from memory or disk after that, even offline and across app restarts.
$ npm install react-native-next-imagev0.1.1420 / monthMIT
Why it exists
One rule: fetch each image once
Every render after the first comes from memory or disk, so lists scroll smoothly and images keep working offline.
Download once
Each URL is fetched once per cache lifetime, then served from memory or disk, even offline and after a restart.
Prefetch ahead
Images a few screens away download early, so the list is ready before the user scrolls to it.
Secure by default
HTTPS only, private networks blocked, and secrets like Authorization headers are never logged.
Quick start
Swap it in, keep your layout
Works like <Image>, with caching and prefetching built in.
import NextImage from 'react-native-next-image';
<NextImage
source={{ uri: 'https://example.com/photo.jpg' }}
transition="fade"
borderRadius={20}
style={{ width: '100%', height: 300 }}
